Pay It Forward joined the “Sister Soldier Project” to send “care packages” to the brave women serving our nation in combat zones. These boxes contain various ethnic personal care products so important to their quality of life; products that are unavailable to them through regular channels and are designed to give them a small taste of their “normal” lives back home.
Since 2006, hundreds of such packages have been shipped to Sister Soldiers, aided by women’s groups from California to New York. On October 25, 2008, the Pay It Forward Foundation joined a packing party on the campus of Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA to help them with this mission. In addition to personal care products, we shipped 70 boxes of magazines, books, CD’s, trail mix, coffee, macaroni and cheese, and more . . .each with a Pay It Forward pin and note, asking these soldiers to “pay it forward X 3.”
Sister Solider Project selects names from www.AnySoldier.com. Another joint venture will send 200 boxes containing Pay It Forward pins at a packing party in Los Angeles on November 8th.
